Social media platforms have been abuzz over the past hours with horrifying posts and videos, in which a person claimed that his relative was subjected to brutal assault and sustained severe injuries inside his detention in one of the police stations in Giza Governorate, Egypt, leading to his death. So what is the full truth behind these clips that ignited 'social media'?

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior left no room for doubt, issuing a decisive statement revealing the 'digital trap' prepared to mislead public opinion, announcing the full results of technical and criminal investigations.

The old photo trick.. stomach surgeries, not torture!

The first surprise uncovered by the investigations was the secret behind the photo attached to the circulating posts, as technical examination proved that the photo is completely old and dates back to about 3 years ago.

The shocking truth is that the marks and injuries visible on the deceased's body in the photo have nothing to do with his detention period at all, but were old documentary footage taken of him after he underwent two surgeries at that time, namely:

Gastric bypass surgery.

Umbilical hernia repair surgery.

The suspect's family exploited these old medical footage to dress them in the garb of 'torture' and assault inside the detention.

The black record.. What happened on the night of July 6?

Egyptian security agencies revealed the criminal identity of the deceased, explaining that he is not just an ordinary detainee, but a highly dangerous criminal element, with several previous court rulings issued against him in drug trafficking cases.

As for the timeline of events, the facts were documented as follows:

July 2, current: The suspect was caught red-handed while engaging in his criminal activity and in possession of a quantity of drugs, and the prosecution ordered his pretrial detention.

July 6, current: The suspect suffered a sudden medical and health condition while inside detention.

Security response: The detainee was immediately and urgently transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary medical care, but he breathed his last there as a result of the deterioration of his condition.

The case was completely settled by the testimony of two detainees who were accompanying the deceased inside the same detention cell, as they officially confirmed before the investigative authorities that no assault or aggression occurred against him by security personnel, and that his health condition began suddenly before his transfer to the hospital.

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior concluded its statement, stressing that the deceased's family's allegations come within the framework of a desperate attempt to question security procedures and hinder the state's efforts to pursue drug dealers, announcing the start of taking strict legal measures against all those who participated in spreading these rumors to mislead Egyptian society.
