Yemeni Minister of Information Muammar al-Iryani said that the 'Houthi terrorist militia detained the International Committee of the Red Cross plane at Sanaa airport and prevented it from departing, and also detained the pilot and co-pilot as hostages, in a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and all international customs and charters that guarantee the protection of humanitarian missions and their workers.'

The minister added, in a statement published on the 'X' platform, that 'this criminal behavior confirms once again that the militia does not recognize any legal or humanitarian obligations, and that it does not hesitate to use humanitarian institutions and their employees as tools for extortion and political pressure, heedless of the resulting undermining of humanitarian work and endangering the lives of civilians and those in need of aid.'

The minister called on the International Committee of the Red Cross, the United Nations, and the international community to condemn this crime, take urgent action for the immediate release of the plane and its crew, hold those responsible accountable, and put an end to the ongoing violations committed by the militia against humanitarian work in Yemen.
