The fans of Saudi Al-Ahli have not been having their best time after the team's heavy friendly defeat against German side Holstein Kiel, but they might get adequate compensation by finding a new striker.

Al-Ahli lost to Holstein Kiel, a team from the German second division, 1-4 in the match that brought them together on Wednesday in Al-Ahli's external camp in Austria.

Al-Ahli's only goal was scored by their Brazilian striker Ricardo Matias, who capitalized on a powerful ground ball shot by his compatriot Mateus Gonçalves from the edge of the penalty area. The German goalkeeper saved it, but the ball reached Matias in front of an empty net, and he slotted it into the net.

This goal became the third that Matias has scored for Al-Ahli in the external camp in Austria, after he scored two goals in the 8-0 win against Austrian side Saalfelden in the first friendly match.

Al-Ahli fans hope that the young Brazilian player will be a good replacement for English striker Ivan Toney in the new season, especially since the team suffered a lot without him due to the lack of an alternative striker.

German Matthias Jaissle, Al-Ahli's head coach, relied on Firas Al-Brikan in the matches where Ivan Toney was absent, but he performed better as a second striker rather than the main striker.

It is worth noting that Ricardo Matias joined Al-Ahli during the last winter transfer window, coming from Brazilian Internacional, but he only played for the U21 team in the Elite League's Joi Group.
