Confirming what 'Sport 24' published, Abha Club officially announced on Thursday the signing of Senegalese defender Abdou Diallo.
According to what was published by Abha Club's official account on 'X' platform, contracts were officially signed with the Senegalese international defender 'Abdou Diallo' to represent the first team.
'Sport 24' had previously indicated that Abha's management was close to finalizing one of its most prominent defensive deals during the summer transfer window, after reaching a full agreement with Senegalese defender Abdou Diallo (30 years old) to sign a two-year contract.
The anticipated signing comes as part of Abha's management's efforts to strengthen the defensive line with a player possessing extensive international experience, in preparation for the new sports season. Diallo is among the names who have accumulated distinguished experiences in European and Asian stadiums.
Abdou Diallo's career on the pitch
Diallo has a rich career. He graduated from the French Monaco academy before playing for German Mainz, then Borussia Dortmund. He then moved to Paris Saint-Germain in a notable deal in 2019, winning several domestic titles with the Parisian club. He also had a loan spell with German RB Leipzig before moving to Qatari Al-Arabi in the summer of 2023, and later played for Al-Duhail on loan.
Internationally, Diallo has represented Senegal since 2021 and was part of the generation that won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. He also participated with the 'Lions of Teranga' in the 2022 World Cup finals. He is known for his ability to play as a center-back, as well as filling the left-back position when needed, which gives Abha's coaching staff multiple tactical options.
