(CNN) -- France defeated Paraguay 1-0 in a match held at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

The only goal for Les Bleus came via Kylian Mbappé from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.

France advanced to the quarter-finals, while Paraguay was eliminated from the tournament hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

This is the ninth time Les Bleus have reached the quarter-finals in their World Cup history.

France will face Morocco in the quarter-finals at Gillette Stadium on July 9.
