After Foden, Manchester City targets contract extensions for its stars
After the official announcement of Phil Foden's contract extension until 2030 yesterday (Wednesday), Manchester City continues its efforts to secure the future of its key players.
According to 'The Athletic' newspaper, the English club is in advanced negotiations with Jeremy Doku and Abdulqadir Khusanov to extend their contracts until 2031.
Both players are considered key elements in the new project led by coach Enzo Maresca, the successor to Pep Guardiola, who left after 10 years at the Etihad.
After joining from Lens in January 2025, Khusanov quickly established himself in the defense, particularly benefiting from injuries to Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol.
At the same time, Doku has become one of the most important players for the Sky Blues, having played in more than 40 matches in each of his three seasons with Manchester City.
