Norwegian Air carried out the bet it made with British Airways on social media, swapping its official Instagram profile picture for British Airways' logo for 24 hours.

This followed Norway's 2-1 loss to England on Saturday evening in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

Reuters reported that the two companies agreed before the match on a friendly bet: the airline from the losing country would change its Instagram profile picture to the winning country's airline logo for a full day.

Norwegian Air accompanied the new logo with a message: 'Although the tournament is over for us, this friendly bet will remain forever in our hearts.'

The company also sent a congratulatory message to its rival: 'We wish England and British Airways the best of luck in the semi-final match, and we sincerely hope you can bring the trophy home.'

The English team is set to face defending champion Argentina in the World Cup semi-finals next Wednesday in Atlanta, USA.
