«Al-Jazeera» - Jeddah:

Al-Ittihad's German coach Jens Fesinck arrived in Jeddah the day before yesterday to lead the team's training in preparation for the new sports season.

Al-Ittihad will leave next Tuesday for the Spanish city of Marbella to hold its external camp, which will last for two weeks, and will include three friendly matches. The first match will be on July 21 against the South African league champion, while the second match will be against Palmas on July 25. The matches will conclude at the end of the camp before returning to Jeddah to complete the second phase of the program.

Al-Ittihad will start its official season by facing Emirati club Al-Jazeera on August 11 in Abu Dhabi, as part of the Asian Elite Cup play-off. The team needs to win to qualify for the tournament, while it will participate in the AFC Champions League 2 if it loses.

In a related context, Al-Ittihad's management, in coordination with the German coach, continues to strengthen the team's ranks by signing foreign professionals during the summer transfer period, as part of its endeavor to correct the team's course after the results achieved last season, which saw it exit early from the competition for championships.
