Al-Najma club announced on Thursday its official signing of Portuguese coach Jorge Mendosa to lead the first football team, in preparation for the new sports season in the Yelo League for First Division clubs.

The club published via its account on 'X' a design accompanied by the phrase: 'A new leader.. and a renewed dream.. Portuguese Jorge Mendosa coach of Najma Unayzah'.

Mission to return the team to the Roshn League

Al-Najma hopes that Mendosa will lead the team to quickly return to the Saudi Roshn League, after being relegated to the Yelo League following its 18th and last place in the league standings last season, with 16 points collected from three wins and seven draws, against 24 defeats.

The Portuguese coach has previous experience in Saudi football, having taken charge of Al-Raed last season, where he supervised the team in 21 matches across various competitions, achieving seven wins, seven draws, and seven defeats, before the end of his tenure with the club.
