The French Football Federation is preparing to move on from the era of former coach Didier Deschamps and announce the appointment of new coach Zinedine Zidane next week.

French newspaper L'Équipe reported that the outlines of the new technical staff for the national team have gradually become clearer over the past months, thanks to continuous consultations between Zidane and Federation President Philippe Diallo.

It added that the French federation wishes to honor Deschamps, in recognition of his 14-year tenure with Les Bleus, but the former coach did not respond.

L'Équipe revealed that the French federation has settled on announcing Zidane's appointment next Tuesday, and that a press conference may be held, but not necessarily on the same day.

It pointed out that there are intensive activities at the headquarters of the French Football Federation to finalize the contract with Zidane for four years.

It explained that Zidane's supporting staff will be finalized in August, and there will not be many changes.

The French national team is preparing to play four matches during the next international break in late September and early October, where it will face Turkey and Belgium on September 25 and 28, then meet Italy and Belgium on October 2 and 5, as part of the UEFA Nations League.
