Morocco loses to France, exits World Cup in quarter-finals

(CNN) -- Morocco lost to France 2-0 in a match played at Gillette Stadium on Thursday in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé scored the two goals for Les Bleus with shots from outside the penalty area in the 60th and 66th minutes.
With this result, France advanced to the semi-finals, while the Atlas Lions exited the tournament being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This is the eighth time Les Bleus have reached the semi-finals in their history of participation in the world's biggest tournament.
France will face Spain or Belgium in the semi-finals on July 14.
