Al-Montashari Appointed Director of Al-Ittihad
Al-Ittihad Club has appointed Hamad Al-Montashari as the director of the first football team for the new sports season, as revealed by the official account on social media platform X on Saturday. The club stated in its announcement: 'Al-Montashari is one of the club's most prominent stars in its history, having achieved numerous accomplishments with Al-Ittihad and the Saudi national team, in addition to his deep knowledge of the club's culture and values.' The statement added: 'Franck Kabout, the sports director, wished Al-Montashari success in his new role, expressing confidence in his ability to contribute to supporting the team in the upcoming phase.' It is worth noting that Arriyadiyah reported last April 18, citing its own sources, that Al-Ittihad's management insisted on keeping Al-Montashari to work within the club next season. Al-Montashari (43 years old) played his entire career with Al-Ittihad before retiring due to a back injury in 2016. He won the Best Player in Asia award in 2005, achieved the Saudi League title three times, the AFC Champions League twice, participated in the FIFA Club World Cup, and represented the Saudi national team in the 2006 World Cup.
