Argentina beat Switzerland 3-1 to reach 2026 World Cup semi-finals
The Argentine national team booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup after defeating Switzerland 3-1 in their quarter-final match today.
Argentina opened the scoring early through Alexis Mac Allister in the 10th minute, maintaining their lead until Switzerland equalized in the 67th minute through Dan Ndoye, leaving the match tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time and headed to extra time.
In extra time, Julián Álvarez restored Argentina's lead with a goal in the 112th minute, before Lautaro Martínez sealed the win by scoring the third goal in the first minute of stoppage time in the second half of extra time.
With this victory, Argentina continued their campaign, setting up a semi-final clash and keeping their hopes alive for the 2026 World Cup title.
