(CNN)-- Argentina beat Switzerland 3-1 in a match hosted at Arrowhead Stadium early Sunday in the 2026 World Cup quarterfinals.

Goals for the 'Tango' team were scored by Alexis Mac Allister, Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez in the 10th, 111th and 120+ minutes, as the match went to extra time after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, while Dan Ndoye scored for the European side in the 67th minute.

With this result, Argentina advanced to the World Cup semifinals, while Switzerland exited the tournament hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

This is the sixth time the 'Tango' team has reached the final four in its history at the biggest tournament in the world.

Argentina will play England in the semifinal on July 15.
