Argentina settles on lineup.. Switzerland starts with Sow
Argentina will face Switzerland in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup on Sunday morning, with the same lineup that led them to an exciting 3-2 victory over Egypt in the round of 16, as coach Lionel Scaloni decided to keep all his starters.
The duo of Julián Álvarez and Leandro Paredes continue to feature in the starting lineup, having earned the coaching staff's trust in the last match, reflecting Scaloni's desire to maintain technical stability ahead of the anticipated clash.
Only change for Switzerland
On the other hand, Swiss coach Murat Yakin made one change to the lineup that beat Colombia on penalties in the round of 16, replacing Ardon Jashari with Djibril Sow in the starting XI.
Switzerland will be without their top scorer Johan Manzambi, who continues to miss out due to a knee injury, as his unavailability for the match has been confirmed.
The lineups are as follows:
Argentina: Emiliano Martínez, Nicolás Tagliafico, Lisandro Martínez, Cristian Romero, Nahuel Molina, Leandro Paredes, Alexis Mac Allister, Enzo Fernández, Rodrigo De Paul, Lionel Messi, Julián Álvarez.
Switzerland: Gregor Kobel, Nico Elvedi, Manuel Akanji, Ricardo Rodríguez, Denis Zakaria, Remo Freuler, Granit Xhaka, Djibril Sow, Fabian Rieder, Breel Embolo, Dan Ndoye.
