Sources: Saad Al-Luhaidan Resigns as CEO of Neom Club
Asharq Al-Awsat learned from informed sources on Thursday that Saad Al-Luhaidan submitted his official resignation from his position as CEO of Neom Club, ending his administrative leadership of the club, pending the completion of legal procedures related to the resignation.
Asharq Al-Awsat had exclusively reported on June 27 that Al-Luhaidan was considering submitting his resignation, before sources confirmed today that he had officially done so.
The reasons that led Al-Luhaidan to take this decision have not yet become clear, and Neom Club has not issued any official announcement regarding the acceptance of the resignation or the identity of who will assume the CEO's duties in the coming period.
Al-Luhaidan joined Neom Club as a consultant in April 2025, before being promoted to the position of CEO in June of the same year, where he oversaw the establishment of the club's administrative system during its first season in the Saudi Professional League.
Neom finished last season in eighth place in the Saudi Professional League standings, in its first participation in the competition's history, after being promoted from the First Division.
The club is preparing for its first foreign participation in its history through the Gulf Clubs Championship, while continuing to work on enhancing its sports project, after its ownership was transferred to Neom Company and its transformation from the former Al-Soqoor Club to its new identity.
Sports circles are awaiting the steps that the Neom Club administration will take in the coming days to fill the CEO position, as the club continues its preparations for the new season on both the administrative and technical levels.
