Saudi Shines in Professional Fighters League Championship in Riyadh
Riyadh, 26 Muharram 1448 H, corresponding to 11 July 2026, SPA -- The Professional Fighters League Middle East and North Africa (PFL MENA) championship competitions were held yesterday in Riyadh amid notable public attendance. The event saw Saudi fighters shine by achieving three victories, as well as the completion of the list of qualifiers for the semifinal round, which will be hosted by Riyadh on the second of next October. Saudi fighter Hattan Al-Saif dominated the main event, winning by technical knockout against Algerian fighter Dania Ouhachi in the second round, marking a successful beginning in her first appearance on the professional scene amid great public interaction. Saudi fighter Malik Basahl continued his strong performances and maintained his undefeated record after winning by unanimous decision against Moroccan fighter Imad Al-Azzami. Meanwhile, Saudi fighter Saud Al-Mulhim won by the same method against Egyptian fighter Abdelhalim El-Houfi in his first participation under the league's umbrella. In the co-main event, Jordanian fighter Hazem Al-Kiyali qualified for the welterweight semifinals after winning by unanimous decision against Lebanese fighter Hassan Shaaban, joining Moroccan fighter Badr Eddine Diani, Algerian fighter Abdelkrim Zouad, and Palestinian fighter Omar Hussein. Algerian fighter Elias Boudegzam and Syrian fighter Shadi Qabbani qualified for the featherweight semifinals, while Algerian fighter Rayan Othmani finished his fight against Egyptian fighter Islam Mustafa by knockout in the first round, thus completing the list of qualifiers for the semifinal round.
