La Liga Most Represented in World Cup Final
The Spanish first division will be present in the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina in New York next Sunday, as the squads of the two teams include 24 players from La Liga clubs out of 52 players in the two teams' lists.
La Liga accounts for nearly half of the final's players, leading by 11 players over the English Premier League which is in second place with 13 players.
The French league has 5 players, while the Italian, German, American, and Argentine leagues each have two players. The Portuguese and Brazilian leagues each contribute one player.
This statistic, prepared according to club lists for the 2026-2027 season, shows a clear increase in La Liga's presence compared to before the final.
In the previous round, the Spanish league and the English league shared the largest share of players who continued in the tournament, but Spain and Argentina's qualification for the final gave La Liga the lead alone.

Spain qualified for the final after a 2-0 win over France in the semi-final, while Argentina came from behind to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win over England.
Coach Luis de la Fuente's team will try to achieve Spain's second World Cup title, 16 years after the first in 2010 in South Africa, while Argentina, led by Lionel Scaloni, seeks to make history as the first country since Brazil in 1958 and 1962 to win two consecutive titles.
