«Al Jazira» - Tariq Al-Aboudi:
Al-Hilal began its pre-season training camp in Austria yesterday, which continues until August 4, as part of the preparations for the new football season.
The team delegation arrived in Austria on Wednesday morning with a reduced squad, due to the absence of Saudi internationals and foreign professionals who are taking their annual vacations after the end of their international commitments, with the expectation that they will join the camp gradually in the coming days.
The coming period is also expected to see the addition of a number of players after the completion of their registration procedures with the club.
The camp list included a large number of under-21 players who participated last season in the «Joy» league, including: Rayan Al-Dosari, Rayan Al-Ghamdi, Mishal Al-Daoud, Saleh Barnawi, Saud Haroon, Saad Al-Mutairi, Ibrahim Al-Hamlan, Turki Al-Ghamil, Thari Saeed, Abdulaziz Jarmoush, Suhaib Al-Zaid, Abdullah Al-Zaid, Mohammed Al-Zaid, along with new signings Abdullah Al-Anazi and Sabri Dahl.
The list also featured a number of foreign professionals, led by Frenchman Karim Benzema, Serbian Sergej Savic, Brazilian Malcom, Turkish Yusuf Akchichek, Frenchman Simon Bouabre, Frenchman Matthieu Batoyie, and Ivorian Mohammed Qader Mite.
All players will undergo technical tests to determine who stays and who is allowed to leave, whether on loan, transfer, or contract termination, especially as Al-Hilal's management is inclined to sign a number of local and foreign names.
During the camp, the team will follow an intensive training program with two sessions daily (morning and evening), along with four friendly matches as follows:
* Sunday, July 19: against Sturm Graz (Austria).
* Friday, July 24: against Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa).
* Wednesday, July 29: against MC Alger (Algeria).
* Monday, August 3: against Al Ahli (Qatar).
The technical staff, led by Italian Simone Inzaghi, relies on this camp to improve physical and technical readiness, and to assess the levels of young players in particular, before finalizing the squad that will compete in the new season, amid expected changes in the list of local and foreign players.
