The French Football Federation has approached opening a new page with the French national team, after reaching an agreement with Zinedine Zidane to take over as head coach, succeeding Didier Deschamps, who is preparing to lead 'Les Bleus' for the last time in a match against England for the third-place playoff in the 2026 World Cup.

French network RMC Sport reported in a report on Thursday that the federation is currently working on completing the legal and administrative procedures for the contract, ahead of the official announcement in the coming days, with a desire to finalize the signing before July 21 to avoid the impact of new legislation concerning the governance of sports bodies in France.

According to the report, Zidane will receive a basic monthly salary of up to 300,000 euros, with performance-related bonuses linked to results and tournaments that could raise his income to 450,000 euros per month. Zidane's project is not limited to technical leadership of the team; he plans to form an expanded working apparatus comprising more than 25 specialists in various technical and administrative aspects, while giving greater space to female talents, especially in the fields of performance analysis and data.

The curtain is expected to fall on Deschamps' era, which spanned 14 years with the French national team, so that Zidane, if the official announcement is made, will begin his first experience at the helm of the technical staff of 'Les Bleus'.
