The Spanish national team achieved a historic feat in the 2026 World Cup finals, becoming the first team in tournament history to keep a clean sheet in six consecutive matches. This historic record reflects the defensive solidity shown by Spain throughout their campaign, as they started with a goalless draw against Cape Verde, then beat Saudi Arabia, and defeated Uruguay in the final group stage match.

Spain continued to keep clean sheets in the knockout stages, defeating Austria 3-0 in the Round of 32 and then beating Portugal 1-0 in the Round of 16, becoming the first team in World Cup history to record six consecutive clean sheets.

Spain will face Belgium in the quarter-finals, aiming to continue their impressive run and take another step towards reclaiming the World Cup title.
