Deportivo La Coruña officially announced on Friday evening the signing of Gabonese international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 37, from French club Olympique Marseille in a permanent transfer worth approximately €1.5 million.

The player signed a contract until the summer of 2028.

The Spanish club confirmed the completion of the deal, which had been expected for several days, in an official statement on its website, bringing the Gabonese striker back to La Liga after six months with Barcelona at the end of the 2021-2022 season, during which he played 24 matches and scored 13 goals.

Aubameyang, who has 86 international caps for Gabon and has scored 40 goals, joins the 12th club of his professional career after a second stint with Olympique Marseille, having previously played for the French club during the 2022-2023 season.

The experienced Gabonese striker preferred a move to Spain despite interest from Turkish club Kouroum, joining a team that recently gained promotion to La Liga after an eight-year absence, having been relegated to the second division just two years ago.
