The debate continues over the future of Argentine Julian Alvarez, Atletico Madrid striker, as he wants to move to Barcelona while his club insists on keeping him.

Alvarez announced during his participation with the Argentine national team in the 2026 World Cup that he wants to leave Atletico, and these statements have caused widespread echoes in the Spanish media.

Barcelona is intensifying its attempts to sign Alvarez in the summer transfer window, while Atletico Madrid sets an exorbitant condition of paying his release clause of 500 million euros.

For its part, the Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that Atletico Madrid has set August 10 as the date for all Atletico players who participated in the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, led by Alvarez, to join the Rojiblancos' camp in preparation for the new season.

The newspaper indicated that those close to Alvarez affirmed that he does not intend to return to Atletico Madrid's training on the specified date, in order to put major pressure on the Madrid club to sell him to Barcelona.

The matter will become clearer in about three weeks: will Alvarez rebel against Atletico Madrid and raise the banner of disobedience against the club's management, or will he adhere to the specified date and join the Rojiblancos' training?
