A new member of the Paraguayan Senate has joined the broad attack on Kylian Mbappé, the French forward, following the match between the two national teams in the 2026 World Cup.

The roots of the crisis go back to after the final whistle in the Paraguay vs. France match, when a confrontation occurred between goalkeeper Orlando Gill and Mbappé, which heightened tension between the Paraguayan fans and the Real Madrid star.

Then Senator Celeste Amarilla opened fire on the star of 'Les Bleus', with multiple statements leveling accusations and even racist remarks against him.

Today, her Senate colleague Juan Carlos 'Nano' Galaverna joined her, whose statements about Mbappé crossed all red lines.

According to the newspaper Marca, Senator Juan Carlos accused the French star of 'homosexuality'.

In his speech before the Senate, he said: 'Cáceres (Paraguay player) had to mark one of the best players in the world, this arrogant Mbappé.'

He continued: 'In a particular moment during the match, this arrogant one said to Cáceres: Do you want to give me a kiss? Cáceres replied: Why not, since we're here.'

He leveled his accusation of homosexuality against Kylian, saying: 'Mbappé already has a history with men.'

The Argentine player had said in statements to TyC Sports after Paraguay's elimination from the tournament, losing 1-0 to France in the round of 16: 'Mbappé said to me: What? Do you want to kiss me? So I said to him: Okay, since you're here.'
