German club Wolfsburg announced Thursday that Christian Eriksen, first-team player, has returned to Denmark for an individual rehabilitation program. The German club issued a press statement saying: 'We continue to wish Christian all the best in his recovery journey.' Wolfsburg explained that the decision to return was made after consultation between Eriksen, 34, and Dieter Hecking, the team director. The German club affirmed that it will maintain communication with the Danish player and the medical team during the implementation of the treatment program. Eriksen collapsed during a friendly match with the Danish national team against Ukraine last June, and he previously suffered a cardiac arrest during Finland's match in the opening game of his country at the European Championship in Copenhagen in 2021. Eriksen joined the German club on a free transfer last September after leaving English Manchester United.
