Ayoub Bouaddi, the star of the Moroccan national team, confirmed that he does not regret his decision to represent the Atlas Lions instead of France, despite saying goodbye to the World Cup with a 0-2 loss to Les Bleus.

Bouaddi, one of the tournament's standout stars, had decided his international future in favor of Morocco last May, despite representing France's youth teams and even captaining France's U21 team last March.

Despite the defeat against France, the Moroccan player emphasized that he is completely convinced of his decision to represent the Atlas Lions.

ESPN published Bouaddi's statements, where he said: 'There is absolutely no regret for choosing Morocco. I have always said that this decision comes from the heart, and I am very proud to represent Morocco, regardless of what happens.'

He added: 'The most important thing now is that all of us - the players, the coaching staff, and everyone around the team - know that no matter what happens, we will always give our all for this jersey.'

He continued: 'We are proud, even though we hoped to make the Moroccan people happy in the best possible way. In the upcoming tournaments, we will know what we still need to improve in order to go as far as possible.'

He noted: 'Before the match, we knew we would face the French team, which is a very strong team. And we knew it would be a difficult match requiring tremendous effort from us.'

He pointed out: 'I think we gave everything we had, we gave 100% of our capabilities, but this is football; you can't always win.'

He explained: 'I think this match will help us develop. It will show us what we need to take with us to the upcoming tournaments and which aspects still need improvement.'
