Algerian midfielder Houssam Aouar, a player for Al-Ittihad, is close to returning to European football through the Spanish league, a dream that has been delayed for three full years.

According to 'Africa Foot', Real Betis has agreed with Al-Ittihad to permanently sign Houssam Aouar during the upcoming summer transfer window for around 5 million euros.

The website stated that the Spanish club has also reached a final agreement with the Algerian player regarding the details of his new contract, and the deal will be officially announced after all details are finalized.

Thus, Aouar returns to European leagues after only two seasons with Al-Ittihad, since moving to its ranks in the summer of 2024 from Italian Roma.

During that period, the Algerian playmaker played a key role in the 'Tigers' winning the Roshn Saudi League and the King Cup during the 2024-2025 season, before the big decline last season.

This was not the first time Real Betis tried to sign the 28-year-old; they attempted to sign him three years ago, specifically in the summer of 2023, when he was a Lyon player, but he preferred to move to Roma at that time.

It is worth noting that Aouar played 69 matches for Al-Ittihad over the past two seasons, scoring 28 goals and providing 8 assists.
