England secured third place in the 2026 World Cup after an exciting 6-4 victory over France in the match that took place early Sunday morning.

The English team ended the first half with a clean 4-0 lead, with goals from Declan Rice, Ezri Konsa, and Saka (two goals) in the 3rd, 18th, 37th, and 45+1 minutes.

In the second half, France fought back to reduce the deficit with a hat-trick of goals from Kylian Mbappé (two goals) and Bradley Barcola in the 48th, 54th, and 66th minutes.

Bukayo Saka then added the fifth goal for England from a penalty kick in the 87th minute, completing his hat-trick.

In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Ousmane Dembélé scored the fourth goal for France, before Jude Bellingham secured the World Cup bronze for the Three Lions with a sixth goal in the 90+8th minute.

Mbappé took sole possession of the 2026 World Cup top scorer list with his tenth goal, two ahead of his closest rival Lionel Messi, the Argentine star who will play in the World Cup final on Sunday against Spain.
