Enzo Fernandez Continues to Taunt England Fans
Enzo Fernandez, Argentina midfielder, continued to provoke English fans, hours after contributing to the victory over England (2-1) in the 2026 World Cup semifinal, Wednesday evening in Atlanta, USA.
Fernandez scored the equalizer for Argentina in the 85th minute, following a pass from Lionel Messi, bringing the world champion back into the match as England was nearing the final.
After the goal, the Argentine midfielder headed toward the English fans, cupping his hands over his ears in a celebration that sparked controversy, according to French network RMC.

Fernandez, a Chelsea player, did not stop at what he did on the field; he continued to provoke the English through his Instagram account, where he reposted a photo of himself with his Argentina teammates Lionel Messi and Leandro Paredes laughing, and captioned it: "The happiest of days."
He chose to accompany the post with the famous song Wonderwall by the British band Oasis, a move that caught attention, especially since the song was constantly chanted by English fans and associated with the celebrations of the "Three Lions" team for their victories during the World Cup.
Fernandez will now shift his focus to the World Cup final, aiming to help Argentina win the title for the second consecutive time, when they face Spain in the final match next Sunday.
