Fenerbahçe signs Nathan Aké from Manchester City
Turkish club Fenerbahçe announced that it has reached an agreement for Dutch defender Nathan Aké to join from English club Manchester City..
British news agency PA Media reported that Aké, 31, will join Fenerbahçe after six years at Manchester City, where he won the English Premier League four times, the UEFA Champions League once, the FA Cup twice, and the League Cup twice.
Despite that, he suffered last season from a lack of playing time under his Spanish manager Josep Guardiola, with only six of his 18 appearances in the English Premier League being starts.
Aké's previous contract had one year remaining after the Dutch player had signed a new deal following the 2023 Champions League win, having joined from Bournemouth in 2020 for £41 million ($54.6 million).
Manchester City has not yet issued a statement regarding Aké's departure, but Fenerbahçe clarified in its announcement that it has reached an agreement with the Dutch player.
Fenerbahçe finished last season in the Turkish league in second place.
