Football.. Frosinone signs Moroccan Anouar El Azzouzi from Fortuna Düsseldorf

Frosinone, recently promoted to the Italian Serie A, has signed Moroccan midfielder Anouar El Azzouzi for 3 seasons until summer 2029, arriving from German side Fortuna Düsseldorf on a free transfer.

The Italian club said in a statement on Monday: "Frosinone Calcio announces the signing of an athletic sponsorship contract with Anouar El Azzouzi. The midfielder, born in 2001, will wear the yellow and blue jersey until June 30, 2029."

El Azzouzi, 25, arrives in Italy after just one season with the German second-division side, which he joined from Dutch club PEC Zwolle in 2025.

During his professional career, El Azzouzi has played in over 140 matches, including 55 in the Dutch Eredivisie and 29 in the German 2. Bundesliga, in addition to appearances in domestic cup competitions in both countries.

This move represents his first experience in the Italian top flight through Frosinone, which returned to the spotlight after just one season in the second division, to join his twin brother Oussama El Azzouzi, who plays for Bologna.
