انطلقت اليوم (الأربعاء) بطولة كأس العالم للرياضات الإلكترونية 2026 في العاصمة الفرنسية باريس، في أول نسخة تُقام خارج المملكة العربية السعودية، بمشاركة أكثر من 2000 لاعب ولاعبة يمثلون 200 نادٍ من أكثر من 100 دولة، يتنافسون في 25 بطولة تشمل 24 لعبة إلكترونية، على مجموع جوائز يبلغ 75 مليون دولار، وهو الأكبر في تاريخ البطولة.

وتستضيف البطولة، التي تستمر حتى 23 أغسطس القادم في مركز باريس إكسبو بورت دو فرساي، نخبة أندية ولاعبي الرياضات الإلكترونية من مختلف أنحاء العالم، في خطوة تعكس التوسع الدولي للبطولة وتحولها إلى منصة عالمية متنقلة تجمع أبرز المنافسات الإلكترونية.

وشهد مبنى بلدية باريس «هوتيل دي فيل» المؤتمر الصحفي الافتتاحي، بحضور عمدة باريس إيمانويل غريغوار، والأمير فيصل بن بندر بن سلطان آل سعود، عضو مجلس إدارة مؤسسة الرياضات الإلكترونية ورئيس مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي للرياضات الإلكترونية، ووزيرة الرياضة والشباب والحياة المجتمعية الفرنسية مارينا فيراري، والرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة الرياضات الإلكترونية رالف رايشرت.

وأكد الأمير فيصل بن بندر أن انطلاق البطولة من المملكة جاء انطلاقًا من رؤية تؤمن بمكانة الرياضات الإلكترونية كإحدى أبرز منصات الرياضة والترفيه للجيل الجديد، مشددًا على أن الرياض ستبقى الموطن الأساسي للبطولة، فيما يمثل انتقالها إلى باريس بداية مرحلة جديدة في مسيرة انتشارها العالمي، مثمنًا دعم القيادة الفرنسية وشراكتها في إنجاح هذه الخطوة.

من جانبها، عدّت وزيرة الرياضة الفرنسية استضافة باريس للنسخة الدولية الأولى من البطولة محطة مهمة لفرنسا، مؤكدة أن الحدث يعكس قدرة البلاد على تنظيم أكبر المنافسات العالمية، ويمثل جزءًا من إستراتيجية وطنية لتطوير قطاع الرياضات الإلكترونية خلال الفترة من 2026 إلى 2030.

وأوضح الرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة الرياضات الإلكترونية رالف رايشرت أن البطولة تجمع أفضل اللاعبين والأندية في منصة واحدة، لافتًا إلى أن نظام بطولة الأندية يمنح المنافسة بعدًا إضافيًا من خلال تتويج أفضل نادٍ عالميًا بناءً على نتائجه في مختلف الألعاب.

وسبق انطلاق البطولة تنظيم أكبر برنامج تأهيلي في تاريخها عبر «الطريق إلى كأس العالم للرياضات الإلكترونية»، بمشاركة أكثر من 1.5 مليون لاعب في 330 بطولة ودوريًا حول العالم.

وتشهد نسخة 2026 استمرار النجم البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو، وبطل العالم في الشطرنج ماغنوس كارلسن، سفيرين عالميين للبطولة، في خطوة تعكس تنامي حضورها وتأثيرها على الساحة الرياضية والثقافية عالميًا.

وتبقى بطولة الأندية إحدى أبرز محاور المنافسات، إذ خُصص لها 30 مليون دولار من إجمالي الجوائز، بينها 7 ملايين دولار للنادي المتوج، فيما يدخل فريق فالكونز السعودي البطولة سعيًا لتحقيق اللقب للمرة الثالثة تواليًا بعد تتويجه في نسختي 2024 و2025.

The 2026 World Esports Championship kicked off today (Wednesday) in the French capital, Paris, marking the first edition held outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. More than 2,000 male and female players representing 200 clubs from over 100 countries are competing in 25 tournaments across 24 electronic games, with a total prize pool of $75 million, the largest in the championship's history.

The championship, which will run until August 23 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, hosts elite esports clubs and players from around the world, reflecting the international expansion of the championship and its transformation into a global mobile platform that gathers the most prominent electronic competitions.

The opening press conference took place at the Paris City Hall "Hôtel de Ville," attended by Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, a board member of the Esports Foundation and Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation, French Minister of Sports, Youth and Community Life Marina Ferrari, and the CEO of the Esports Foundation Ralph Reichert.

Prince Faisal bin Bandar emphasized that the championship's launch from the Kingdom stems from a vision that recognizes the position of esports as one of the most prominent platforms for sports and entertainment for the new generation. He stressed that Riyadh will remain the primary home of the championship, while its move to Paris represents the beginning of a new phase in its global spread, appreciating the support and partnership of the French leadership in making this step successful.

For her part, the French Minister of Sports considered Paris's hosting of the first international edition of the championship an important milestone for France, affirming that the event reflects the country's ability to organize the largest global competitions and is part of a national strategy to develop the esports sector from 2026 to 2030.

Ralph Reichert, the CEO of the Esports Foundation, explained that the championship brings together the best players and clubs on a single platform, noting that the club championship system adds an extra dimension to the competition by crowning the best club globally based on its results across various games.

Prior to the championship's launch, the largest qualification program in its history was organized through "The Road to the World Esports Championship," with the participation of more than 1.5 million players in 330 tournaments and leagues around the world.

The 2026 edition will see Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo and world chess champion Magnus Carlsen continuing as global ambassadors for the championship, reflecting its growing presence and influence in the global sports and cultural arena.

The club championship remains one of the most prominent competition aspects, with $30 million allocated from the total prize pool, including $7 million for the winning club, while the Saudi Falcons team enters the championship seeking to achieve the title for the third consecutive time after winning in the 2024 and 2025 editions.
