France booked their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup after beating Morocco 2-0 on Thursday evening at Boston Stadium in the quarter-final match.

Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring for France in the 60th minute, before Ousmane Dembélé secured the win with the second goal in the 66th minute, setting up a date for Les Bleus with the winner of the match between Spain and Belgium.

With this qualification, France became the third team in World Cup history to reach the semi-finals in three consecutive tournaments.

Only two teams had achieved this before France: Germany, who did it twice during the periods (1982-1990) and (2002-2014), and Brazil during the editions (1994-2002).

France joined this historic list by reaching the semi-finals in the 2018, 2022, and 2026 editions.

Les Bleus had defeated Sweden 3-0 in the round of 32 of the current edition, before narrowly beating Paraguay 1-0 in the round of 16.

Only three sides have reached the semi-finals in three consecutive World Cup appearances:
