Saleh Abu Al-Shamat, a player of Al-Ahli first football team, suffered a knee injury during the friendly against Portuguese Vitoria Guimaraes on Friday, according to a special source to 'Al-Riyadiya'. The same source stated that Abu Al-Shamat underwent an examination by the medical staff and will undergo an X-ray on Friday evening. Abu Al-Shamat had left the pitch in the middle of the second half on a medical stretcher after the injury he sustained following a collision with a Vitoria Guimaraes player. Al-Ahli lost its fourth friendly in its European camp against Portuguese Vitoria Guimaraes 1-3 on Friday.

Al-Ahli had drawn 2-2 with Rio Ave in its third friendly after losing to German counterpart Holstein Kiel 1-4 in its second friendly match in Austria. The Jeddah giant thrashed Austrian Piesendorf Zell am See 8-0 in the first friendly. Al-Ahli's preparations in Portugal extend until the 28th of this month and include four matches, of which two remain against Portimonense and Fulham.
