Didier Deschamps, coach of the French national team, has etched his name in history with a record-breaking achievement, leading "Les Bleus" to the World Cup semifinals for the third consecutive time.

The French team secured a valuable 2-0 victory over Morocco on Thursday in the quarterfinal stage of the 2026 World Cup.

According to football statistics network "Squawka," Deschamps has become the second coach to reach the World Cup semifinals on three occasions, after Brazil's Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Scolari had previously done so on three occasions: twice with Brazil in 2002 and 2014, and once with Portugal.

As for Deschamps, he reached the semifinals in 2018 and led the Roosters to the title, then repeated the feat in the previous edition in 2022, finishing as runners-up, before reaching the semifinals for the third consecutive time.

France will play the winner of the match between Spain and Belgium, scheduled for Friday evening.
