Englishman Anthony Gordon, who recently joined Barcelona, confirmed that he has an excellent relationship with his compatriot Marcus Rashford, who competes with him for a place in manager Thomas Tuchel's starting lineup for the "Three Lions".

Gordon revealed that Rashford was the first to congratulate him after his move to the Catalan club, coming from Newcastle United.

Gordon and Rashford are currently preparing with the England national team to face Norway in the World Cup quarter-final.

Gordon joined Barça this summer, prompting the Catalan team not to activate the purchase option for Rashford, who played on loan for the Blaugrana last season.

Gordon said in statements published by Mundo Deportivo that his relationship with Rashford is excellent, even though he came to take his place at Barcelona.

He added: "Rashford congratulated me as soon as he saw me. He has helped me a lot; I am looking for a house, and he has given me information about the club, which is very useful for me because I haven't gone there yet."

Gordon believes that Rashford is a "misunderstood person" and described him as a humble person, "almost like a child".

He noted: "He loves football. He always has the ball and performs skills and tricks with it. He is a wonderful young man, polite, and comes from a good family."

He added: "We compete for a place in the lineup, and that's the nature of football. At the highest levels, you will always find competition, and it usually pushes me to give my best, so I have no problem with it, and I am sure he also has no problem."
