Portugal star Bernardo Silva expressed his deep sadness after his country's elimination from the 2026 World Cup following a loss to Spain, emphasizing that the early exit was a huge disappointment for everyone.

Silva's remarks came as the Portuguese Football Federation decided to dismiss head coach Roberto Martinez and appoint Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, former manager of Saudi club Al-Nassr, to lead the national team in the upcoming period.

Bernardo Silva wrote on his official Instagram account: "It was a frustrating World Cup, a huge disappointment after our early exit from the competition. We did not expect our journey to end so quickly."
