Gulf Cup Football Federation Delegation Inspects Readiness of Iraq's Dohuk Club Stadium
A delegation from the Gulf Cup Football Federation conducted a field visit to Dohuk Governorate in the Republic of Iraq to review the latest preparations for hosting the Gulf Club Super Cup match, scheduled for Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Dohuk Club Stadium, between Iraq's Dohuk Club, champions of the first edition of the Gulf Club Champions League, and Qatar's Al Rayyan Club, champions of the second edition.
The delegation was headed by Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cup Football Federation, who conducted a comprehensive field tour of Dohuk Club Stadium, inspecting the pitch and facilities, media requirements and television broadcast systems, as well as security standards and safety systems, to ensure all necessary requirements for holding the match are met.
The delegation also held a meeting with officials from Iraq's Dohuk Club, during which the latest preparations were reviewed, and organizational and logistical aspects, as well as coordination mechanisms among various committees, were discussed, ensuring the event is held according to the highest approved standards.
Dr. Abdullah Jalal, President of Iraq's Dohuk Club, affirmed the club's full commitment to the success of hosting the match, noting that all capabilities are being harnessed to present the event in a manner befitting its importance, with full adherence to the requirements and standards of the Gulf Cup Football Federation.
At the conclusion of the visit, the federation's delegation praised the level of preparations observed on the ground, appreciating the efforts made by Dohuk Club and relevant authorities, and expressing confidence in the city's ability to host a match worthy of the tournament's status, affirming that it represents an important opportunity to enhance the competitiveness of Gulf clubs and strengthen sports ties between the region's countries.
