Algerian journalist Hafidh Draji confirmed that the French national team deserved to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup at the expense of its Moroccan counterpart, noting the brilliance of goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
France beat Morocco 2-0, with goals from Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé, in the quarter-final match played Thursday evening in Boston.
Draji highlighted on his Facebook account that the Moroccan team "failed to repeat its previous achievement at the 2022 World Cup."
The Algerian journalist refers to the historic achievement of the Atlas Lions in reaching the semi-finals of the last World Cup as the first Arab and African team.

Draji did not forget to praise Yassine Bounou, especially in the first half, as he saved a penalty from Mbappé.

It is worth noting that the French team awaits the winner of the match between Belgium and Spain, scheduled for Friday evening.
