Doha, January 24 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Football Association, affirmed that the next stage of the Asian Cup tournament requires more focus, doubled effort, and greater harmony from our national team. His Highness attended the match between our national team and its Iranian counterpart, which took place yesterday, Tuesday, in the third and final round of the group stage of the tournament currently being held in Qatar, where the team qualified for the round of 16 after finishing second in Group C with four points. His Highness said: "Our national team has young and talented players who can fulfill the aspirations of their fans in the tournaments they participate in, and we must continue to support the team, stand by it, and encourage its members." He added: "The upcoming match against Tajikistan will be decisive, as it is a passage to the next round, and the confrontation in the round of 16 requires alertness and balance. We are confident that the technical staff and players are aware of this and will be ready for this football task." His Highness the President of the Federation thanked the audience that supported the team in the group stage, calling for continued support in the knockout stage, and wished the national team success in its next match.
