In the Last Minute: Al Hilal Intervenes to Snatch World Cup Star from Roma's Clutches
Al Hilal makes a late bid for Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville, competing with AS Roma for his signature.
Al Hilal intervened in the final moments to snatch one of the stars of the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico from the clutches of AS Roma.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano said that Al Hilal has submitted an offer to sign Dutchman Crysencio Summerville, West Ham's winger, during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Romano explained, in a tweet via his personal account on 'X', that the Saudi club is trying to hijack Summerville in the last minutes, after AS Roma had submitted three offers to sign him.
West Ham is expected to decide the fate of the 24-year-old within the next few hours, whether moving to Al Hilal or the Italian capital club.
Summerville's name emerged in the 2026 World Cup, despite not being a starter in all matches of the Netherlands national team, after scoring two goals and providing two assists.
Away from 'the Oranje', Summerville delivered impressive performances last season with West Ham, participating in 34 matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists.
The 24-year-old primarily excels as a left winger, but can also play on the right flank, as well as the striker and playmaker positions, though less frequently.

After AS Roma third bid to West Ham, the Saudi Pro League club also tries last minute hijack for the Dutch winger.
