Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha, currently with Bayern Munich, has made his position clear on offers received during the ongoing summer transfer window, rejecting the idea of moving to the Saudi Professional League.

The Saudi newspaper Al-Youm reported, citing Portuguese journalist Bruno Andrade from the Maisfutebol platform, that Palhinha turned down an official offer from a Roshn League club, preferring to remain in Europe to be close to his family.

The report clarified that the player strongly welcomes the idea of returning to Benfica, which is actively moving to re-sign him this summer, giving the Portuguese club the upper hand in the race for his signature, although the identity of the Saudi club and the financial details of the offer have not been disclosed.

Palhinha's decision comes as he is close to leaving Bayern Munich permanently after the end of his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur, as he is not part of coach Vincent Kompany's plans for the new season.

The player's future remains open to several possibilities, with interest from other European clubs, most notably Juventus and Milan. However, completing any deal depends on reaching a financial agreement with Bayern and resolving the issue of his high salary.

The report indicated that Bayern Munich's management has lowered its financial demands to let go of Palhinha, having previously asked for 25 million euros, and is now open to selling him for a lower amount to reduce the wage bill and resolve his situation early.

The Bavarian club had signed the player from Fulham in the summer of 2024 for 51 million euros, meaning it is facing a significant financial loss if sold at the current value.
