Jürgen Klinsmann, the legend of the German national team, praised the Egyptian national team after the performances it presented in the 2026 World Cup, considering that it will be among the world's superpowers in the coming years.

The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the 2026 World Cup in the round of 16, after a 2-3 defeat against Argentina the day before yesterday, Tuesday, at the Atlanta stadium, after having been ahead 2-0.

Klinsmann said, in statements to the official website of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), about the Egyptian and Norwegian national teams: 'They are among the countries that will develop to become superpowers in football.'

He added: 'They are among the countries that have the ability to grow, to become teams that you see in the end, after 15 to 20 years, among the top ten in the world.'

He continued: 'Egypt has always enjoyed a lot of respect from everyone in the world, even though it has not appeared in its best form in the World Cup, by reaching the semi-finals as the Moroccan national team did in Qatar 2022.'

He concluded: 'But they are always in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, and they have world-class players in European leagues, and that means a lot.'

It is worth noting that the Egyptian national team remains the most crowned with the Africa Cup of Nations throughout history, with 7 titles, two titles ahead of the Cameroon national team, which is in second place.
