Konsa replaces Quansah in England lineup against Norway
German Thomas Tuchel, head coach of the England national team, announced his lineup for the match against Norway in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, fielding Ezri Konsa at right-back to cover for the suspended Jarrell Quansah.
Quansah misses the match after being suspended for two matches following the red card he received during the clash with Mexico in the round of 16.
English adjustments
Tuchel preferred to rely on Konsa at right-back, after he finished the match against Mexico in that position, outperforming in the coaching staff's choices over Jed Spence, while John Stones returned to the center-back position.
The lineup also saw Noni Madueke start on the right wing instead of Bukayo Saka, while Anthony Gordon retained his place on the left flank.
One change for Norway
On the other side, Norway coach Ståle Solbakken made only one adjustment to the lineup that eliminated Brazil in the round of 16, bringing in Andreas Schjelderup on the left wing instead of Antonio Nusa.
Erling Haaland leads the Norwegian attack, alongside captain Martin Ødegaard, who keeps his place in the starting lineup.
Jordan Pickford plays his 18th World Cup finals match, becoming the England player with the most appearances in the tournament, surpassing the record set by legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton.
England lineup: Jordan Pickford, Ezri Konsa, Nico O'Reilly, John Stones, Marc Guéhi, Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson, Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Anthony Gordon, Noni Madueke.
