(CNN)-- Spanish club Real Madrid shared footage on social media on Friday of the first appearance of Portuguese coach José Mourinho at the team's headquarters.

The Merengues posted a photo of Mourinho, showing him wearing the team's training kit, and commented: "He has arrived."

They also posted another photo of the 63-year-old and his support staff, commenting: "Mourinho starts preparations for the 2026/2027 season."

The club, which competes in La Liga, had appointed José Mourinho as head coach on June 11, replacing Álvaro Arbeloa.

The Portuguese coach is tied to the Merengues with a three-year contract, specifically until the summer of 2029.

He previously coached Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, winning La Liga and the Copa del Rey. He has also managed Inter Milan and Roma in Italy, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United in England, Fenerbahçe in Turkey, and Benfica in Portugal.
