England concluded their 2026 World Cup campaign in the best possible way, defeating France 6-4 in an exciting third-place match to claim the bronze medal and achieve their best result in the tournament since winning their only title in 1966.

The English opened the goal festival early through Declan Rice, before Ezri Konsa extended the lead, then Bukayo Saka added two goals to end the first half with England leading 4-0.

In the second half, the French team attempted a comeback led by Kylian Mbappé, who scored two goals, and Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé added two more goals, but Saka completed his hat-trick with a penalty kick, before Jude Bellingham concluded the goal festival with a sixth goal in stoppage time.
