Ministry of Sports Branch in Al-Baha Launches Over 20 Programs for the Region's Summer
The Ministry of Sports branch in Al-Baha region has launched more than 20 sports and community programs and events as part of the 'Al-Baha Summer 2026' season, aiming to boost physical activity, spread sports culture, and enrich the experience of residents and visitors through a diverse range of activities targeting different age groups.
The Ministry of Sports branch in Al-Baha region has launched more than (20) sports and community programs and events as part of the "Al-Baha Summer 2026" season, as part of its efforts to enhance physical activity, spread sports culture, and enrich the experience of residents and visitors through a diverse package of activities targeting various age groups.
The events include programs teaching the basics of swimming and football for juniors, walking and hiking activities, cycling races, the Al-Baha Cycling Tour, the Al-Baha Half Marathon, in addition to padel, chess, and football tournaments, a classic car rally, along with a series of awareness events coinciding with international days.
These programs are the result of partnerships with a number of government and private entities, sports federations, and specialized associations, contributing to the provision of quality programs that enhance community participation.
The events are distributed across multiple locations in Al-Baha city and its governorates, as well as a number of sports, tourist, and natural sites, linking sports activities with the tourist attractions that characterize the region in summer.
These activities continue until next September, including notable quality events such as the National Boulder Championship, the Al-Baha Cycling Tour, cycling championships, and the Al-Baha Open Chess Championship, thereby boosting sports movement and enriching the accompanying events of the season.
The Director of the Ministry of Sports branch in Al-Baha region, Bandar Al-Ghamdi, emphasized that these events are part of the Ministry's efforts to increase the percentage of physical activity practitioners and enhance the quality of life, and to provide programs that meet the interests of all segments of society, noting that the distribution of events across the region's governorates expands the scope of participation and allows residents and visitors to benefit from sports activities in their locations.
