Morocco's national football team qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup after defeating Canada 3-0 in the round of 16 match on Saturday.

Midfielder Azzedine Ounahi scored two goals for Morocco in the second half, in the 50th and 82nd minutes of the match.

Soufiane Rahimi sealed the Atlas Lions' victory with a third goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time.

The first half saw a great performance by Morocco's goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who plays for Al-Hilal, as he saved the Arab team's goal from several clear chances.

The Atlas Lions had advanced to the round of 16 by defeating the Netherlands on penalties, before overcoming Canada, one of the three World Cup hosts, to reach the quarter-finals.

Morocco will await the winner of the match between France and Paraguay to know their opponent in the World Cup quarter-finals, while Canada exits the competition.
