Not just the coach... A new crisis threatens Al-Ittihad's season before its start
Crises continue to haunt Al-Ittihad Club before the start of the new 2026-2027 football season, this time regarding its external camp in Spain.
Crises continued to haunt Al-Ittihad Club before the start of the new 2026-2027 football season, after ruining its past season.
Al-Ittihad Club was scheduled to hold an external camp in the coastal city of Marbella, Spain, from July 14 to 31 of this month, as part of the second phase of its preparatory program for the new season.
However, the Saudi newspaper 'Okaz' dropped a bombshell, confirming that this camp is threatened with cancellation due to the inability to secure its financial cost so far.
Al-Ittihad is undergoing the first phase of the preparatory camp in Jeddah, starting next Tuesday and lasting a week, during which players will undergo medical examinations and physical measurements before traveling to Spain.
The Spanish camp crisis was not the first that the 'Tigers' have suffered recently, as the club has not been able to contract with a new technical director so far, after dismissing Portuguese Sergio Conceição at the end of last season.
Al-Ittihad suffered a series of stumbles last season, coming out of it without any titles, finishing fifth in the Saudi Roshn League, and bidding farewell to the King Cup and Saudi Super Cup from the semi-finals, and the AFC Champions League Elite from the quarter-finals.
