Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses... Among International Group 3 Races
The International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing (IFAHR) has decided to upgrade the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses to International Group 3 classification (G3), a step that confirms the rapid growth witnessed in purebred Arabian horse racing in the Kingdom and reflects the club's continuous efforts to develop the system and elevate it to the highest international classifications.
With this upgrade, the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Cup becomes one of the most prominent cups of the Taif season, classified among the highest races in the region, with a prize of one million riyals and a distance of 2000 meters, joining the elite major group races on the dirt track for purebred Arabian horses aged four years and over at the international level.
His Highness Prince Salman bin Abdullah bin Salman, CEO of the Horse Racing Club, affirmed that the upgrade of the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Cup - may God have mercy on him - to International Group 3 represents an important milestone in the development of purebred Arabian horse racing in the Kingdom, reflecting the growing status it has achieved on the international stage, indicating that this step is an extension of the club's strategy aimed at building a competitive racing calendar that raises the quality of races and enhances the Kingdom's presence as a leading destination for horse racing.
He added that this achievement embodies the club's ongoing commitment to developing purebred Arabian horse racing in accordance with the highest international standards, enhancing its position on the global horse racing map, and aligning with the historical and cultural legacy represented by the Arabian horse in the Kingdom.
